D -- TELEPHONE SUPPORT SERVICES AND PRODUCTS SOL SP4700-98-R-0005 POC Ann Burley (703) 767-1182 The DLA Administrative Support Center, Office of Contracting intends to award a sole source purchase order, following Simplified Acquisition Procedures,FAR Part 12 to Desktop Data Inc.. The contractor shall provide customer support services and products such as telephone support with a (1-800-number or local number)for user questions and troubleshooting at a minimum of Monday-Friday, 7:30 A.M.to 8:00 P.M. Eastern Standard Time. The contractor shall designate an individual who is familiar with the terms of this agreement to serve as a contact for DTIC customers. The contractor shall provide DTIC with a minimum of one set of complete user documentation(manuals, reference guides and database descriptions) on the content and use of the NEWSEDGE systems -- in print or electronic form -- at no charge. The contractor shall provide machine readable data about usage of the NEWSEDGE System to enable DTIC to analyze patterns in usage. Usage data shall be provided via system feature, file transfer, e-mail,diskette, tape or application ready format, such as Lotus Notes. To facilitate management analysis, data management analysis, data manipulation, and reporting the data format should allow for easy import into a standard database management or spreadsheet program such as Dbase, Paradox, FoxPro, Lotus 1-2-3, Quattro Pro or Excel. A text description of the format and data structure shall be included with the file. Usage data shall include session-specific data, such as contractor name, services, files, databases, systems being searched, session date(s)time, system access ID (password, user ID, bill group), session connect time database, telecommunications. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However all written responses received within five (5) days of the date of this synopsis will be considered. All responses must contain sufficient technical information to enable an evaluation of an ability to perform in accordance with the Agency's requirements.
