establish a firm fixed price(FFP) Direct Vendor Delivery(DVD) contract
for the Close-In-Weapon-System(CIWS) with Hughes Missile Corp-Tucson
for the full range of repair and replacement spares; those currently
managed by NAVICP-M as well as Defense Logistics Agency CIWS uniques.
Hughes shall function as the Government's Commercial Stock Point for
these spares in support of domestic requirements including the
performance of all routine inventory management functions including
receiving, shipping, tracking, warehousing, reporting and scheduling.
The goal is to improve the availability and reliability for the CIWS
while simultaneously reducing overall support costs. Each installed
CIWS shall be FFP'd per year for each of the base five years of the
contract running to approximately September 2003. An additional three
one-year options may be exercised. The projected milestones are: Draft
