Contracting Officer, Albert Villalpando, 512/326-6027 This is a
combined Synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in
accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with
additional information included in this notice. This announcement
constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a
written solicitation will not be issued. The invitation for bid
document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect
through the Federal Acquisition Circular (FAC) 97-02. This is a Total
Small Business Set-Aside procurement. The Standard Industrial Code is
"5045". The small business size is 100 employees. The Department of
Veterans Affairs, Austin Automation Center (AAC), Austin, Texas (AAC)
intends to procure the following items: 1.) 6,420 each of a 3M
BlackWatch brand, 3490E tape cartridges and 2.) 6.420 each Engineered
Data Products (EDP) #1687-FC, Tri-Optic 3480 bar-code labels. Label
numbering series are 1) # 263350 through 265769 (2,420 each) and 2)
280000 through 283999 (4,000/ea). Each tape cartridge shall be
delivered with the bar-code label attached and shall be initialized
using the following header format/data code/operating system
(IBM/EDCDIC/MVS.) Delivery of the items shall be within 20 days from
receipt of a purchase order. Delivery Address is: Austin Automation
Center, 1615 Woodward Street, Austin, TX. 78741. All responsible
sources may submit a quote, which will be considered by this agency.
Responses shall be in writing and can be mailed to the attention of the
contracting officer or faxed to 512/326-6028. The following FAR clauses
apply to this solicitation. FAR 52.212-1, Instructions to Offerors,
Commercial Items with the addendum FAR 52.216-1 Type of Contract (APR
1984) "The Government contemplates award of a firm fixed price contract
resulting from this solicitation". FAR 52.212-2, Evaluation-Commercial
Items. "Award will be made to the responsive offeror which provides
the lowest offered price and meets all the terms and conditions set
forth in this solicitation". All Offerors will be required to provide
a completed copy of the provision FAR 52-212-3 Offeror Representations
and Notifications-Commercial Items and with addendum, VAAR 852.219-70
Veteran Owned Small Business. FAR 52.212-4 Contract Terms and
Conditions-Commercial Items. FAR 52.212-5, Contract Terms and
Conditions Required to Implement Statutes or Executive Order-Commercial
Items. The Standard Commercial Warranty is required. Offers must be
