The Voice of America (VOA) is the United States Government's world-wide broadcasting service and a major component of the U.S. Information Agency's (USIA) International Broadcasting Bureau. VOA has an unparalleled worldwide news gathering service, with more than 25 bureaus around the globe; it produces a wide variety of programming in 52 languages, including English, reaching about 86 million people around the globe. VOA receives grants from foundations and corporations which allows it to focus attention on special projects, such as conflict resolution techniques, polio eradication campaigns in parts of the developing world, conferences on better utilization of international broadcasting to draw attention to specific social and economic problems, e.g., family reunification and child survival health issues. Assistance in administering these grants may be needed. Administration would include performing a variety of services including database design and maintenance, conference organization, project reports, budget planning, development of protocols, objectives, assessment guidelines, planning and coordinating media events, creating training materials, and briefing/debriefing project personnel.
