Pope, Contracting Officer This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial services prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6 of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotes are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The solicitation number is 1 PI-Q-0033-98, and this solicitation is issued as a Request for Quote (RFQ). The solicitation document and incorporated clauses and provisions are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 97-02. This requirements are 100% set aside for small business concerns. The Standard Industrial Classification is 2759, and the small business size standard is 500 employees. UNICOR, Federal Prison Industries, Inc. intends to enter into a firm-fixed-price, definite delivery type contract for the following commercial services: Clin 0001 -- Print Metal Products Catalog. Contractor shall print 60,000 copies of a 48 page product catalog (44 text pages and 4 cover pages)to the following specifications: Paper stock required -- cover -- 60# gloss white cover recycled, #2 sheet body -- 70# gloss white text recycled, #2 sheet. 4 color with varnish on page C1 and C4, 11X17 folded to 8.5 X 11 3 hole drill 3/8" saddle stitch, all pages bleed. Ink coverage is 100% on cover, 50% on text pages images are screeded at 150 line screen. The Goverenment shall provide press films and color proofs. Press film will be provided right read and emulsion up. Packing requirements: shrink wrap in convenient packages. Delivery shall be FOB Destination to: UNICOR, Federal Prison Industries, 300 First St., N.W., Washington, D.C. 20534 4th Floor Attn: Mr. Jim Wishart Delivery shall be made 15 days after receipt of government material. Offerors must be within a 50 mile radius of Washington D.C. to facilitate press checks. FAR Provision 52.212-1, Instructions to Offerors-Commercial Items applies to this acquisiton. Offerors must include a completed copy of FAR provision 52.212-3, Offeror Representations and Certifications-Commercia Items with their offer. The following clauses also apply to this solicitation: FAR 52.212-5, Contract Terms and Conditions Required to Implement Statutes or Executive Orders-Commercial Items. Any offer that does not include the certifications and representations contained in FAR 52.212-3 may be excluded from consideration. Offers will be evaluated in accordance with FAR Provision 52.212-2, Evaluation of Commercial Items, price and delivery will be the evaluation factors.
