Schlosser, Contracting Officer, 202-906-6193 The Office of Thrift Supervision (OTS) will request proposals from firms operating as insurance carriers (no brokers, please) to provide, manage, and operate a dental and vision plan for (i) current and future active full-time and part-time OTS employees and their dependents; (ii) future retirees and their dependents; (iii) surviving spouses and dependents of deceased retirees; and (iv) temporary employees (non-permanent). One proposal will provide fixed rates for four levels of coverage featuring differing benefits and deductible amounts at each level for groups (i) through (iv). The contract will feature a base year running from June 15, 1998 through January 2, 1999 with two, twelve month option periods. A second proposal will be requested meeting the same requirements over the same periods of performance as the first but will cover only groups (i) and (iv). Proposals will be required on an insured basis only. The OTS may issue one or more contracts for this requirement, i.e., it may issue a contractfor both plans to a single firm or two contracts, one for the dental plan and the other for the vision plan. The OTS cautions potential respondents that not all elements for which rates are being sought will be a part of the OTS' final dental and vision plans. The RFP will be issued on or about January 30, 1997 with submission of proposals on or about March 2, 1998. All responsible carriers may submit a proposal which will be considered by the Government.
