The US Army TACOM-ARDEC intends to execute a sole source modification with Kearfott Guidance & Navigation Corporation under contract DAAE30-96-C-0075 on a Firm-Fixed-Price basis, for the purchase of 3 Towed Weapon Inertial Navigation Systems(TWINS) and 15 PLGR Cables. The TWINS is an integral component in the digital fire control system for the 155mm Automated Howitzer. The TWINS provides navigation, gun position, aiming and pointing data to the mission manager. Essentially the TWINS provides the primary information necessary for howitzer operations. The 155 Automated Howitzer cannot execute fire missions without the TWINS. It is anticipated that delivery will be made within 4 months after award. See Numbered Notes 22 and 26. (0351)
