58 -- MARKET RESEARCH SURVEY FOR REDESIGN AND/OR REPLACEMENT OF THE IREMBASS SENSORS DUE 012398 POC M. Abbaszadeh,J. Florido, Electronics Engineers, (732)532-9893, (732)532-9868 E-MAIL: CECOM POC, florido@doim6.monmouth.army.mil or abbaszad@doim6.monmouth.army.mil. This is a market research survey to locate sources to redesign and/or provide replacements of the IREMBASS Sensors. The Sensors are the following: DT-561A/GSQ (NSN 6350-01-345-3561, P/N C5088161), DT-562A/GSQ (NSN 6350-01-348-3145, P/N C5088162), DT-565A/GSQ (NSN 6350-01-346-7717, P/N C5088165). The DT561A is a magnetic sensor that responds to disturbances in the earth's magnetic field surrounding the sensor's transducer, a magnetometer that is internally mounted. The DT-562A is a seismic/acoustic sensor that monitors the seismic (earth tremors) and acoustic (sound) activity in its detection radius. The DT-565A is an infrared sensor that responds to temperatures changes in a narrow field of view directly in front of the transducer only. Detailed technical data is available for these items for guidance for designing the new sensors. The new sensors shall be interoperable with existing REMBASS and IREMBASS equipments. It must meet or exce! ed current IREMBASS performance pa rameters, weight less than 4 pounds(battery not included) and smaller size. Use commercially available NDI components, test equipment and built-in test (BIT) to board level. Deviation from the requirements should be noted in the response. Sources capable of furnishing these items must so indicate, by writing to Commander, USA CECOM, ATTN: AMSEL-LC-IEW-C-SN, FT. Monmouth, NJ 07703-5000. For more information contact Mr. M. Abbaszadeh at 732-532-9893 or Mr. J. Florido at 732-532-9868. The deadline for response is January 23, 1998. (0351)
