synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with
the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional
information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the
only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written
solicitation will not be issued. Solicitation Number S-OPRAQ-98-M-0385.
This solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are
those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 90-45, final
rules effective 1/97. The Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) Code
3499. No additional specifications will be issued. The U.S. Department
of State intends to award this requirement on the brand specified.
This requirement will be set aside for small business only. Items to be
acquired: Magnum 457 Drill Rig Kit, includes magnets, case and
accessories. Manufacturer's numbers, description of line item and
quantities are as follows: MAG457SET, quantity is 20 each. Rig should
work with any brand or size drill motorby utilizing a universal
attachment. Kit should include 4 ceramic magnets with 450 pounds of
pull per magnet. Rig should show depth of penetration in 1/6"
increments, and angle drilling in 5 degree increments. Kit includes all
components including collapsible pipes and weights a total of 48 lbs.
Case measures 15" x 18" x 6" (outside dimensions). Deliver to:

Solicitation provisions at FAR 52.212.1, Instructions to Offerors --
Commercial Items is hereby incorporated by reference. Only one award
will result from this solicitation. Award will be made to the lowest
priced, technically acceptable, responsible offer. Offerors must
provide earliest delivery time and payment terms. Offerors are reminded
to include a completed copy of the provision at 52.212-3, Offeror
Representations and Certifications -- Commercial Items, with offers. A
copy of the Representations and Certifications may be obtained by
calling the point of contact listed in this notice. Signed and dated
offers are due by 5:00 p.m. eastern daylight time, January 23, 1998.
