NASA/GSFC plans to issue a Request for Quote (RFQ) for the purchase of (1) 7 each, Optical Table with Broadband Damping (size 4x8x12); (2) 1 each, Optical Bench, dual tuned plus broadband damping (size 4x10x12); (3) 1 each, Optical Bench, dual tuned plus broadband damping (5x12x18); (4) 7 each, Vibration Isolation Table Legs 28" height, 500 lbs capacity; (5) Vibration Isolation Table Legs 28" height, 1000 lbs capacity; and (6) Vibration Isolation Table Legs 22" height, 10000 lbs capacity. Detailed specifications must be met and are available with the RFQ package. The vibrationally isolated optical tables will be used in all stages of testing and construction of GLAS Flight Lasers in a cleanroom environment. These items are required to be delivered to the Meyer's Building, 5000 College Avenue, College Park, MD no later than 4 weeks after receipt of award. This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). The Government does not intend to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. See Note 26. The DPAS Rating for this procurment is DO-C9. The anticipated release date of RFQ 924-67479-902 is on or about 12-19-97 with an anticipated quote due date of on or about 1-5-98. All qualified responsible sources may submit a quote which shall be considered by the agency. An ombudsman has been appointed -- See Internet Note "B".
