To be manufactured to meet the testing and marking requirements of 49 CFR, Subtitle B, Chapter 1, Part 178, Lubpart L (Non-Bulk Performance-oriented Packaging Standards). Packing Group "Y" is minimum, "X" is also acceptable. Specific Gravity of 1.5 is minimum. Hydrostatic Pressure of 300 is minimum. Minimum thickness for steel in body of drum is to be 20 gage. Drums are to be standard dimensions for 55 gallon drums and painted black. Two (2) threaded plug openings (one each: 2" and 3/4") on drum heads are to be diametrically opposed to each other. Threaded plugs are to be in place. Drums to be palletized and covered with a fiberboard cap to preclude standing water on drum heads. Pallets may be either 40"x48" or 48"x48" and must allow 4 way entry. Drums to be secured to pallets to prevent movement and/or damage during shipment. Estimated quantity for 1 year is 2448 each. Estimated quantity each Delivery Order is 400-600 each. Period of Performance will be from date of award through 1 year thereafter. Two 1 year (12 months) option periods are included.
