COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF DECEMBER 22,1997 PSA#1997US Army, CECOM Acquisition Center, Ft. Monmouth, New Jersey 07703-5008 A -- ULTRA-NARROW FOV STARING ARRAY FLIR TECHNOLOGY SOL
DAAB07-98-R-J032 DUE 011598 POC Point of Contact -- Jay Pilling,
Contract Specialist, 732-427-1389. Contracting Officer -- Deborah
Gilligan, 732-532-5454. E-MAIL: Staring Array FLIR Technology,
pilling@doim6.monmouth.army.mil. This announcement is for sources
sought to participate in a US Army CECOM RDEC Night Vision and
Electronic Sensors Directorate (NVESD) demonstration of ultra narrow
field of view (UNFOV) staring array, forward looking infrared (FLIR)
technology to government representatives. The government is seeking
contractors interested in providing FLIR devices and associated support
for this proof of concept demonstration. FLIR devices sought for
demonstration are high performance, large area format, mid wave staring
arrays (e.g. 640 x 480 pixel, 3 to 5 micrometer wavelength) with UNFOV
optics that are equal to or less than a 1.0 degree FOV. It is desired
that these FLIR devices be packaged so that digital imagery can be
read and collected through a standard video interface. Digital data
collection instrumentation will be needed to transfer, process and
record the digital imagery that will be generated by these cameras.
This imagery should be stored on commercially available memory media,
in a format that is useable by the Government. The capability to
calibrate imagery for the supplied FLIR(s) is highly desirable.
Electrical power, in the form of 120 VAC, will be provided at the test
site but participants must provide any power conditioning required for
their system(s). Tentative timeframe for this exercise is a two-week
window, between the months of January and March 1998. Field location is
expected to be at the Yuma Proving Grounds, Arizona. All data collected
during this exercise, shall be the property of the US Government. Each
contractor shall receive data collected on their equipment only.
Transportation of contractor's personnel and equipment as well as any
lodging and meal expenses shall be the contractor's responsibility.
