U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is the Nation's premier engineering
organization, providing comprehensive engineering, management and
technical support to the Department of Defense, other agencies, State
and local governments. Small business plays an essential role in
assisting the Corps in accomplishing its mission. Last year the U.S.
Army Corps of Engineers awarded approximately $2.5 billion in direct
contracts to small businesses. This conference brings together small
businessleaders and key USACE decision makers, from the top level to
commanders in the field where acquisitions are conducted. It provides
a forum for direct exchange of information and ideas between senior
USACE officials and small business leaders. The Business Opportunity
Fair, which is a significant feature of the conference, will outline
future business opportunities available in buying commands. All
Division and District Commanders with their small business specialists
will be available to address individual questions and concerns. This
conference is designed for "Opening the Door to the Corps" by
addressing important challenges and changes facing small businesses. If
