AVAILABILITY OF COMBAT AIR FORCE (CAF) MISSION AREA PLANS (MAPS) Air Combat Command (ACC) announces the availability of the following FY98 Combat Air Force (CAF) Mission Area Plans (MAPs): Air Superiority, Combat Search and Rescue, Global Attack, and Agile Combat Support. The MAPs identify CAF modernization needs and its acquisition research & development priorities for the next 25 years. The U.S. Air Force uses the MAP products as major guides for changing tactics, training and procedures and for investing scarce dollars to modernize its forces. These products guide future system acquisitions, modifications to existing systems, and potential enabling technologies. They also focus both Air Force laboratory and industry research and development efforts. Local organizations in the Langley AFB area interested in receiving these CAF MAPs should forward a visit request with the following information: company or organization name; physical and e-mail address; telephone number; name, SSN and security clearance degree of the person to receive the documents; current government contract reference; facility cage code; and a brief reason for requesting the MAPs to: HQ ACC/DRMA, 204 Dodd Blvd., Suite 226, Langley AFB, VA 23665-2777 via US mail or FAX (757) 764-7217. The MAPs must be picked up by the person indicated on the visit request. No MAPs will be mailed. For those organizations outside the local area, the MAPs are available via the Defense Technical Information Center (DTIC); Accession Number -- ADM400058. The documents are produced in Microsoft Word 7.0 format and are available on 4 (four) 3.5" diskettes.
