This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). NASA/MSFC intends to purchase the items from X-Ray Optical Systems, per Far 13.106, for the manufacturer of hard x-ray polycapillary multifiber focusing optics that can meet the compatibility requirements which are necessary to work with the laboratory's existing x-ray imaging proportional counter. Description: LINE ITEM NO: 1 QUANTITY: 1 UNIT: CH POLYCAPILLARY MULTIFIBER FOCUSING OPTIC; SHALL BE OPTIMIZED FOR EFFICIENT TRANSMISSION OF 30-60 KEV X-RAYS; SHALL MEET THE FOLLOWING SPECIFICATIONS: RANGE INPUT DIMENSIONS: 30 X 30 MM, OPTIC OUTPUT DIMENSIONS: 29 X 29 MM WITH RANGE OF +/-0.2 MM; OPTIC LENGTH: 140 MM WITH RANGE OF +/-0.5 MM; OUTPUT FOCAL DISTANCE: 2.0 METERS WITH RANGE OF +/-5 MM; SPOT SIZE IN FOCAL PLANE: 2 MM FULL WIDTH HALF MAXIMUM; FIBER ALIGNMENT: SIGMA LESS THAN 0.3 MILLI-RADIANS; DIAMETER OF INDIVIDUAL CAPILLARY: LESS THAN OR EQUAL TO 10 MICRONS.
