The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) intends to acquire from Nano Instruments, Oak Ridge, TN, the following four items: ITEM 01 -- one each motion system upgrade, servo-gearmotors, three-axis, lead screws, two-axis, nano motor control box. ITEM 02 -- one each upgrade of Nano Indenter II indentation head, dual tube assembly with INVAR/stainless steel, latest design coil/magnet assembly. ITEM 03 -- one each electronics upgrade, nano load, displacement and control cards, high load head amplifier, and all associatedrequired cables, connectors, and accessories. ITEM 04 -- one job, on-site calibration and service. Anticipated award date is January 20, 1997. SIC code is 3812. The NIST intends to solicit one source under authority of FAR 13.106-2(a)(5), which permits solicitation from one source if the contracting officer determines that the circumstances of the contract action deem only one source reasonably available.
