EARLE (508) 233-5917 (Site Code DAAN02) SSCOM seeks companies interested in furnishing and/or developing "structural" Resin Impregnated Kraft Paper Honeycomb Core Material of two(2) distinct densities that shall meet or exceed the requirements set forth for Type IV (4.4 lbs/cuft maximum density) and Type V (3.3 lbs/cuft density) core per ASTM E1091, entitled "Standard Specification for Nonmetallic Honeycomb Core For Use in Shelter Panels". This core is the most critical component of Hot Bonded Aluminum Faced Honeycomb Shelter Panel Material used in the manufacture of DOD Tactical Rigid Wall Honeycomb Shelters such as the Army Standard Family (ASF) One and Two Sided ISO Shelters, the Lightweight Multipurpose Shelter (LMS) and the Modular Extendible Rigid Wall Shelter (MERWS). Note that this core is sandwiched between aluminum skins and positioned in a hot platen press and bonded using a structural film adhesive typically at 275 degrees Farenheit at 30 psi for 35 minutes.
