P -- DISPOSAL SERVICES SOL N00181-98-R-0016 POC Nancy Hassell-Sitar, Code 531, (757) 396-8345 Contractor services required to process and dispose or recycle numerous pieces of radioactive equipment which contain non-radioactively contaminated lead encapsulated by stainless steel or carbon steel plate that is externally radioactively contaminated. Contractor shall provide services to survey, decontaminate (via chemical means only), and free release equipment that may be received with exposed/uncanned lead. These services will require the transportation of the equipment from the Norfolk Naval Shipyard and other locations to the contractor's processing facility. Contractor shall propose appropriate safeguards that will be approved by the contracting officer for secueity for the safeguarding from actual, potential or inadvertent release by the contractor, or any subcontractor, of any Navy Nuclear Propulsion Information (NNPI) in any form, classified or unclassified. Services are required for a 12 month period with an option provision for two additional 12 month periods. An Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity contract is anticipated.
