Rich Shearer (803) 963-5155 x250 or Sra Bill Kendall (803)963-5155 x244 Renovation of 78 Military Family Housing (MFH) Units at Hunley Park, Charleston AFB, SC. Solicitation F38610-97-R0002. Project No. DKFX 97-4238H1. Estimated cost is between $5,000,000 and $10,000,000. Performance time is projected for 569 days. Work to be performed includes whole house renovation on 78 MFH units in accordance with current Air Force standards. Units consists of three distinct types to include two, three and four bedrooms with two variations of carports and entrances. Interior work will include replacement of all interior finishes, drywall, insulation, windows, doors, wood trim, bathroom fixtures, kitchen cabinets, kitchen countertops, refrigerators, stoves, water heaters, HVAC and utility systems including slab sewer lines and sewer laterals. New electrical service shall be 200 amps. Other interior modifications to include providing breakfast areas and family rooms and the relocation of mechanical equipment and laundry room. Exterior work includes providing patios, privacy screening, landscaping, vinyl trim, roof shingle replacement and movement of clean out pipes. Community work will include installation of new underground electrical system with pad mounted transformers and street lighting for an all electric neighborhood. Installation of a new underground telephone and cable television system as well as spot repair to current sewer system pipes. Further community improvement will include construction and repair of parks, recreation areas, playgrounds, sidewalks, jogging trails and landscaping. This contract will be awarded utilizing full and open competition. Small and small disadvantaged business concerns are encouraged to request a solicitation. Additionally, past performance and price trade-off procedures will be employed. Prospective contractors are asked to submit past performance data to include a list of references as well as experience with construction projects of this magnitude with their request for solicitation. Past performance information should be relevant to this requirement and should have occurred with the past 3 years. No telephone requests for solicitation packages will be accepted under any conditions.
