99 -- RESEARCH CHAMBER TO MAINTAIN ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS SOL IFB No. 8-91H2-98 DUE 021098 POC Rita Abeyta, Contracting Officer, 510/559-6019 or FAX 510/559-6023 The USDA, Agricultural Research Service has a need for a research chamber to maintain environmental conditions necessary for disinfesting fruit and/or vegetables of quarantined insects while maintaining fruit quality. The chamber will be used to develop commodity treatments for quarantined security against insect pests. The chamber must be constructed of stainless steel sheet metal and contain three compartments. Two compartments measuring 24" x 16" x 18" and one measuring 24" x 16" x 10". Each of the three compartments must be able to be opened independently during operation without disturbing the termperature, atmosphere or other environmental conditions in the other compartments within the chamber. The chamber must be constructed and perform in accordance with the statement of work. Invitation for Bid No. 8-91H2-98 will be available on or about January 7, 1998.
