S002 ``WIDEBAND RADIO NETWORKING.'' SOL DAAB07-97-R-D003 DUE 093000 POC
Point of Contact -- Josh E. Howard, Contract Specialist, 732-532-1119.
Contracting Officer -- Andrew A. Dellomo, 732-532-1530. E-MAIL: Topic
S002 Clarification, howardj@doim6.monmouth.army.mil. The purpose of
this modification is to alert the public that information contained in
Topic No. S002 "Wideband Radio Networking" has been clarified. The
clarifications are as follows: "In response to several inquiries
related to the subject BAA, a clarification is provided below, related
to paragraph III.C.1 (fourth sentence), which states "In addition to
the WNR, as a minimum, the testbed shall be usable with existing radios
such as SINCGARS SIP/INC, EPLRS, NTDR, MECDL, SDR, and VRC-99". The
clarification pertains to the use of the term "usable": In order for
the Government to test legacy radios, such as those listed, the
Wideband Radio Network Testbed (WRNT) must support such use, including
the Radio-Traffic Generator (TG) interfaces. All the basic required
functions of the WRNT are already detailed in BAA. Related to the TG
interfaces, the WRNT shall provide the following minimum set of packet
data interfaces between the TG's and radios under test: Ethernet,
X.25, and serial PPP. Government does notintend to supply any WRNT
racks or radio interface hardware, although additional interface
information for the above legacy network radios can be supplied if
required." The clarification is also posted on the CECOM Acquisition
Center's "Business Opportunities Homepage" at
HTTP://acbop.monmouth.army.mil/ with the title "DAAB07-98-R-D003;
Clarification to Topic S002." If you have trouble accessing this
