Pierce, Contracting Officer, (919) 541-0184 The Environmental Protection Agency intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Arrhythmia Research Technology, 5910 Courtyard Drive, Suite 300, Austin, TX 78731, for the purchase and maintenance of medical monitoring equipment. The equipment will be used for ongoing epidemiological field studies. These studies involve the collection of biomedical data concerning human physiological responses to exposure to particulate matter. The new equipment must be identical to existing arrhythmia measurement and data reduction equipment and software to ensure data consistency and compatibility. Items to be procured are as follows: LP-Pac Q Kit, Catalog No. 60-6100, Quantity of 5; Predictor Heart Rate Variability ECG for LC-Pac Q, Catalog No. 99-6203, Quantity of 5; Isolation Safety Transformer for LP-Pac Q, Catalog No. 62-1100, Quantity of 5; LP-Pac Q Service Contract/Extended Warranty, Catalog No. 99-2001; and One-Day On-Site Visit by ART Training or Service Representative, Catalog No. 99-7000. EPA believes that Arrhythmia is the only vendor capable of satisfying the requirements stated above. The period of performance for the service contract/extended warranty is expected to be from February 1, 1998 through January 31, 1999. No solicitation is available. All interested parties must respond within 15 days of the date of this announcement. Interested vendors shall: 1) include information on the proposed equipment and services which clearly supports the requirements outlined above and; 2) provide itemized pricing that is sufficient to make a determination that competition is feasible.
