Arentsen, (618) 229-9661 The purpose of this modification is to readvertise Synopsis Number 132189 previously issued on 7 Oct 97 and Synopsis Number 135772 previously issued on 20 Oct 97. The Defense Information Technology Contracting Organization (DITCO), Scott AFB, IL, will competitively procure the following: Hardware Maintenance of UNISYS Equipment. The UNISYS environment consists of eight Defense Megacenters (DMCs) and numerous Department of Defense (DOD)/non-DOD activities located world-wide utilizing UNISYS B series, U5000/6000 distributed systems, 2200/400, 2200/500 and 2200/600 mainframe computer systems for consolidated processing of mission support applications. It also contains more than two hundred and ninety-two worldwide sites utilizing DCPs and Local Area Networks (LANs) connected via Air Force Internet (AFIN), the Non-secure Internet Protocol Router Network (NIPRNET), Defense Information Systems Network (DISN), and other data circuits to the DMCs. The RFP will result in a five (5) year (one base year and four option years, Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract. The Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) Code for this procurement is 7378. The anticipated RFP release date is 24 December 1997 with proposals expected to be due on 23 January 1998. Vendor proposals in response to this RFP must be received in hard copy in accordance with the RFP. All responsible sources may submit a proposal which shall be considered. ACTUAL SOLICITATION WILL BE ISSUED ELECTRONICALLY; THEREFORE, THERE IS NO NEED TO RESPOND IN WRITING WITH REFERENCE TO THIS CBD NOTICE. Vendors will be able to download the RFP, amendments, related correspondence, etc. by two methods. Vendors can access the DITCO Home Page, Contracting Opportunities, at http://www.ditco.disa.mil or by dialing into the electronic Information Technology Acquisition Bulletin Board System (ITABBS) at telephone number (618) 229-9200. Information will either be in ASCII, Microsoft Word for Windows 6.0, or Excel 5.0 format. RFPs on ITABBS are usually a compressed (PKZIP) MS Word file requiring you to have compatible software to extract the file. The ITABBS can be accessed by any FIP vendor through standard hardware and software. To access ITABBS, the necessary communications parameters are 8 data bits, no parity, 1 stop bit, with modem speeds of 1.2 -- 14.4 KBPS.
