On or about 15 January 1998, this office will issue Invitation for Bids for the construction of REMOVE & REPLACE OIL/WATER SEPARATORS, DOVER AFB, DELAWARE. Bids will be opened on or about 18 February 1998. This solicitation is unrestricted and open to both large and small business participation. Prospective bidders will be given a conducted tour of the construction site on 28 January 1997. For details as to the hour and place of assembly, etc., contact the Resident Engineer, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Room 1, Building 302, 13th & Alantic, Dover AFB, Delaware 19902-7232, Phone (302) 674-6556 or 2122 and FAX (302) 674-5681. Bidders will not be given individual access to the construction site. The work will include the following: (Approx. quantities) Remove two existing oil/water separators including 2000 gallons of sludge; Two new oil/water separators in concrete vaults; new sediment trap; 500 LF of new forcemain; Two new forced main pumps with electrical supply and controls. The estimated construction cost of this project is between $100,000 and $250,000. Contractor's Quality Control will be a requirement in this contract. The Contractor will be required to commence work within 10 days after notice to proceed and complete the work 150 calendar days after receipt of Notice to Proceed. Provisions will be included for liquidated damages in case of failure to complete the work in the time allowed. Performance and payment bonds will be required. Plans and Specifications will be provided free of charge. All requests for solicitation packages should be made in writing and no later than 14 days prior to bid opening. After such time, packages will be furnished if supply is available. It has been determined that the number of sets be limited to one (1) per firm.
