B -- FOREST FIRE RISK ASSESSMENT SOL RFQ R1-04-98-18 DUE 010998 POC Contact Contract Clerk (208) 765-7497 The Idaho Panhandle National Forests (Coeur d'Alene, Idaho) is interested in obtaining project leadership skills to complete Phase II of the North Zone Geographic Assessment fire risk analysis. Phase I of the fire risk analysis provides a detailed outline of the methodology, timeframe, and tasks to be completed in Phase II. The fire risk assessment is a spatially explicit analysis of fire hazards, historic and probable future risks of ignition and catastopic wildfire, and values at risk. Leadership skills needed in Phase II are to proved project oversight, coordination with others, and ensure all tasks are being included in this narrative completed in timeframes provided. Timeframes projected includes: pre-meeting coordination January 19-30, 1998, participation in Phase I workshop, week of February 2-6, 1998 (2-3 days), and implementation of Phase I deliverables, that is workplans developed, from February 9 thru June 30, 1998. Interested contractors are asked to respond to the IPNF's contracting officewith the following information: 1. Expertise in organizational skills regarding natural resoures projects; 2. Technical knowledge of forest dynamics and wildfire hazards in moist Northern Rocky Mountain ecosystems; 3. Skills and experience with use of fire behavior models and knowledge of fire risk assessment processes; 4. Skills and experience in implementing work plans and timelines for complex technical natural resource tasks; 5. Demonstrated ability to successfully organize people and information provide technical coordination and develop comprehensive report on results on strict timelines; 6.
