Johnson Engineering Corporation (JE) is a prime contractor (NAS9-18800)
to the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) at Johnson
Space Center (JSC), Houston, TX. JE is seeking prospective suppliers
to provide Qualification and Acceptance Testing of International Space
Station (ISS) and Shuttle Transportation System (STS) Flight Hardware.
Prospective suppliers must possess or have proven abilities to obtain
the following capabilities: (1) ISS or STS Flight Hardware or
equivalent experience. (2) Complete in-house testing capability is
desired per the following standards. (a) Low Frequency Acceleration
(Static Loading) Sinusoidal Modal -- NASA STD-7002, Payload Test
Requirements, July 10, 1996; NASA STD 5001, Structural Design and Test
Factors of Safety for Spaceflight Hardware; NSTS 14046C, Payload
Verification Requirements, April 1994; SSP 41172B, Qualification and
Acceptance Environmental Test Requirements, November 1, 1995. (b) High
Frequency Acceleration (Random Vibration)—NASA STD-7001, Payload

Established Safety and Mission/Quality Assurance Program. (4)
Established Contamination Control Program per SN-C-0005, Contamination
Control Requirements, June 20, 1989. Interested companies are
requested to submit a Statement of Capabilities (SOC) within 15
calendar days of the publication date of this notice. The SOC must
include: (1) specific information necessary to substantiate the
required experience and capabilities described above, (2)
identification of any testing and services that would be subcontracted
to a lower-tier supplier, and (3) any other relevant information.
Include your business status (e.g., Small Disadvantaged or Woman-owned
Business, Small or Large). Allfirms submitting the required
documentation will be considered and any subsequent solicitation will
be issued to the sources that JE has determined to have the best
potential to successfully perform the specified work. Because of the
risk associated with the transportation of ISS and STS Flight Hardware,
preference will be given to those suppliers located within 400 miles of
JE's location. JE does not intend to pay for information received as a
