R -- REAL ESTATE TITLE EVIDENCE AND INSURANCE SOL DACW29-98-R-0007 DUE 012798 POC Contract Specialist, Patricia Perkins, (504) 862-2876 The U.S. Army Engineer District, New Orleans, has a requirement for Real Estate Title Research and Insurance Services in support of the Atchafalaya Basin Floodway System Project. The Corps intends to award three (3) indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity task order contracts with a minimum of 100 tracts per contract and a maximum of 1,567 tracts divided among the three contracts. Each award will be based on the best value to the government. The term of each contract will be one (1) year with options for four (4) more years. The contract area is located in St. Martin, Iberville, Iberia, and St. Mary Parishes, Louisiana. The entire contract area is comprised of approximately 1,625 ownerships including approximately 155,654 acres of Environmental Protection and Developmental Control Easement; Perpetual Flowage, Environmental Protection and Developmental Control Easement, with a possible minute percentage of ownership tracts in Fee. Each successful contractor will provide a minimum of 100 and a maximum of approximately 441 Interim Binders with Chain of Title throughout the designated contract period and provide Intermediate Certificates and/or Endorsements as needed. If/when the Government completes negotiations with the landowners and acquires the subject property, Final Title Insurance will be ordered. The estimated value of the required right-of-way for each contract is approximately $7,500,000.00. The U.S. Department of Justice requires a minimally qualified contractor to be a Title Company or an attorney/direct agent for a Title Company authorized to issue title policies in the State of Louisiana.
