T -- TYPESETTING SERVICES SOL CC-98-Q-0002 POC Mark Eckl, Contracting Officer, (202)874-5096 The Department of the Treasury, Office of the Comptroller of the Currency has a requirement for typesetting services. This acquisition is a 100% Small Business Set-a-Side and will be conducted utilizing the simplified acquisition procedures contained in FAR Part 13. The Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) code is 2791 with a size standard of 500 employees. Contractors interested in obtaining a copy of the Request for Quotations (RFQ) shall respond in writing to the individual and address listed above or by FAX (202)874-5625 Attn: Mark Eckl. No telephone requests will be accepted. The typesetting services shall be performed as follows: Title of Publication: Quarterly Journal (purchase order to cover four issues: one each in March, June, September, and December). Pages: Total of four (4) issues. Average length of each issue is approximately 175 printed pages: 100 pages of text, 65 pages of tabular, chart and graph material (14 of these pages will include approximately 3 charts or graphs per page), and 10 blank pages. Composition: Contractor to provide as specified: Typeface -- Text: 10/12 Helvetica Light, Footnotes: 8/10 Helvetica Light, Heads -- Korinna Regular 24 pt, Korinna Bold 18, 16, 14, 12, 10, and run-in text heads are 10/12 Helvetica Regular. Page type width -- 42 picas, 2 columns of 20 picas each. Page type depth -- 57 picas, folio at 59-1/2 picas. Tables: 8/10/42 Helvetica Light, format will be supplied. Files will be supplied in Word Perfect 6.1, Microsoft Word 97, Freelance, PowerPoint, DOS text (ASCII), or hardcopy manuscript. Files will be sent to typesetter in separate batches as they are ready, starting in February 1998. Good typographical conventions must be followed, including conversion of hyphens to "en" dashes or "em" dashes as appropriate. (For example, en dashes are used between inclusive figures and acronyms, and em dashes are used in place of two hyphens to separate ideas.) The dashes are set close up to text. Consistent spacing is used above and below rules, heads,and other type. The typesetter must proofread before returning corrections to OCC. No double spaces are used between sentences or words. Typesetter must understand conventional proofreaders' marks and follow good typographical conventions. Required Dates: Issue 1 (Vol. 17, No. 1) -- March 1, 1998, Issue 2 (Vol. 17, No. 2) -- June 1, 1998, Issue 3 (Vol. 17, No. 3) -September 1, 1998; and, Issue 4 (Vol. 17, No. 4) -- December 2, 1998. Delivery Schedule: Contractor shall take: 2-4 days to prepare initial page proofs from electronic files 1-2 days to make corrections and alterations, 2-4 days to provide final art. Final files shall be delivered to OCC in camera-ready form in hard copy and on disk, for printing purposes, as well as another electronic version, converted, formatted, and readable by an IBM PC Windows or DOS program such as WordPerfect 6.1 or MS Word 97 for OCC's internal use, formats as specified. The material in the Journal is very timely. Thus for each issue, additional copy will be addedup to 2 weeks before delivery (about 20 pages). Typically, material will be presented to the contractor throughout the quarter. (0006)
