58 -- DISPATCH VOICE RECORDERS SOL R220Q980009 DUE 012398 POC Contracting Officer, Kathy Colson, 208-387-5545 This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6 as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written document incorporates provisions and clauses which are in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 90-46. This solicitation is set-aside 100% for small business, the standard industrial code is 5084, Industrial Machinery and Equipmment, and the business size standard is 500 employees. The Bureau of Land Management (BLM), has a requirement to purchase 61 each voice recording units to record two-way radio conversations. Units shall be placed in various BLM fire dispatch offices throughout the Western United States. The units shall meet the following specifications: (a) shall be voice activated, automatically recording all received and transmitted messages and automatically stopping between conversations; (b) shall record ona standard compact audio cassette tape with a minimum of eight (8) hours recording time per tape, per side; (c) shall operate on 110-120 VAC power with battery back up in the event AC power is lost. Each dispatch console in a dispatch area shall have it's own recording unit dedicated to that console's radio activity. All units shall be received/accepted at the Bureau of Land Management, National Interagency Fire Center, 3833 South Development Avenue, Boise, ID 83705-5354 and the Government shall be responsible for distributing the units to their finally destination. Delivery F.O.B. destination March 13, 1998 or before.
