Contracting Officer This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for a
commercial item prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6
of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), as supplemented with
additional information included in this notice. This announcement
constitutes the only solicitation, quotes are being requested and a
written solicitation will not be issued. The solicitation number is 1
PI-Q-0035-98. The solicitation document and incorporated clauses and
provisions are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular
97-02. This requirement is 100% set aside for small business concerns.
The Standard Industrial Classification is 5045, and the small business
size standard is 100 employees. UNICOR Federal Prison Industries, Inc.
Intends to enter into a firm-fixed price, definite delivery type
contract for the following commercial item: CLIN 0001: AV52/6420 Quad
CPU Board with 4 processors and 7016 128 Meg of memory for a Avion 5200
series computer. Qty: 8 each. Delivery shall be made FOB Destination
to:UNICOR, Federal Prison Industries, 320 First St., N.W., Washington,
D.C. 20534 4th Floor ATTN: Mr. Bill Morrow, MISB. Delivery: 30
calender days after receipt of order is the maximum acceptable to the
Government. Offerors may indicate on the offer a shorter delivery time
which shall be evaluated. FAR Provision 52.212-1 Instructions to
Offerors-Commercial Items applies to this acquisition. Offerors must
include a completed copy of FAR provision 52.212-3, Offeror
Representations and Certifications-Commercial Items with their offer.
The following clauses also apply to this solicitation: FAR 52.212-5,
Contract Terms and Conditions Required to Implement Statutes or
Executive Orders-Commercial Items. Offerors may submit signed and dated
Federal Express offers to UNICOR, Federal Prison Industries, Inc.,
Material Management Branch, 400 First Street NW, Washington, D.C.
20534, 7th Floor, Attn: Bid Custodian. Offerors may submit offers by
fax at (202) 305-7363/65. Offers who fax their quote must follow-up via
telephone to ensure quote is received (202) 305-7312. Faxed quotes
shall be directed to the Attn of Mala Pope, Contracting Officer. Offers
may be submitted on the Standard Form 1449 or on letterhead stationary.
The date and time of receipt of offers is 1:00 pm eastern standard time
on January 16, 1998. All offers must reference the solicitation number
in their offer as well as any discount terms that are offered and the
remit to address (if different from the mailing address). Each offer
must contain a price for 8 AV52/6420 Quad CPU Boards with the above
requirements. Also, offers may include an alternative delivery date in
lieu of 30 calender days. Any offer that does not include the
certifications and representations contained in FAR 52.212-3 may be
excluded from consideration. Offers will be evaluated in accordance
with FAR Provision 52.212-2, Evaluation of Commercial Items, price and
delivery will be the evaluation factors. Equal importance will be
given in the evaluation of this offer. Offerors shall ensure quote
