of Prisons intends to award a Non Personal services contract for a
Pharmacist Assistant. Duties are to be performed at the Federal
Correctional Institution, Cumberland, Maryland. The contractor will be
responsible for the following: filling medications in accordance with
standard pharmaceutical practices, operation of pill counter
machinery, preparing blister packs, preparing labels, performing
filing, and other general office duties, assisting with pill line,
placing orders for medication via the prime vendor pharmaceutical
program, draw keys and perform good key control, must have a working
knowledge of medical terminology and I.C.D.(International
Classifications of Diseases) Index. Due to the nature of this contract,
all individuals working within the institution will be required to
submit to Security Clearances. This will be a competitive procurement
with award being made to the offeror determined to be in the best
interest of the government, price and other factors considered. These
other factors include Past Performance and Work Experience. Services
will be required during the normal work week, an estimated 25-30
sessions per week (1 session = 1 hour), for an estimated 1530 sessions
per year. The base year of the contract shall run for 12 months from
the date of award with four (4) one year option periods for renewal. It
is anticipated that solicitations will be mailed approximately January
16, 1998, with an approximate due date of February 18, 1998. It is
anticipated that this solicitation will result in a Firm-Fixed Price,
Requirements type contract. This solicitation is 100% set-aside for
small business concerns. All responsible sources may submit a bid which
may be considered for award. Requests for solicitation packages shall
