Y -- NATO: SITE PREPARATION FOR DEPENDENT SCHOOL AT AVIANO AIR BASE, ITALY SOL N33191-98-C-1307 DUE 012898 POC Alexis Kemper (202-482-1512) The United States Navy, Naval Facilities Engineering Command, Engineering Field Activity Mediterranean issues a Notice of Intent to Invite Bids for a NATO project to provide site preparation for a dependent school in Aviano Air Base, Italy. The work entails the demolition/removal of existing site improvements and landscaping, demolition/removal of existing buildings, protection of existing buildings, landscaping and utilities to remain. Removal of fuel tanks, grease traps/interceptors, septic tanks and imhoff tanks, temporary backfill of tanks and foundations removed as part of demolition. Includes stripping of stockpile of topsoil, site grading and necessary soil stabilization and erosion control. remove and dispose of hazardous materials in accordance with applicable laws and regulations. Provide temporary roadways for construction and circulation, temporary fencing, gates, and construction fencing. Provide new DIP water service (340M), PVC sanitary Sewer (480M), PVC storm sewer (200M), manholes (11)and catch basins (8). Temporary site lighting, communications connections, and temporary power will be required. Also included are excavation, backfill and connection to existing systems for all utilities. Portion of the work indicated above may be included in the contract as options in the Cahier des Charges. Estimated cost of construction is between US $1,000,000 and US $5,000,000.
