Y -- NATO: CONSTRUCTION OF DEPENDENT SCHOOL AT AVIANO AIR BASE, ITALY SOL N33191-98-C-1302 DUE 012898 POC Alexis Kemper (202-482-1512) The United States Navy, Naval Facilities Engineering Command, Engineering Field Activity Mediterranean issues a Notice of Intent to Bid under NATO International Competitive Bidding for the costruction of new school facilities to include an approximate 10,600 square meter Elementary School, an approximate 10,400 square meter High School, and approximate 2100 square meters of joint use facilities, associated sitework and utilities; complete and ready for use. Reinforced concrete substructure and superstructure, both cast-in-place and prestressed are anticipated. Steel columns, beams and truss framing are anticipated for the gymnasium. Exterior building enclosure including both built-in and clay tile roofing, walls, insulation, doors, windows, skylights, and louvers shall be in accordance with the solicitation documents. Interior finishes, millwork, casework, and signage are included, as are procurement and installation of kitchen and stage equipment. Also included is provision of a hydraulic elevator, all plumbing, HVAC, fire protection systems and controls, as well as electrical, communications, TV, LAN, and fire alarm systems. All necessary site preparation, earthwork, disposal of excavated material off-site is included. Site grading, soil stabilization, and erosion control, paving and surfacing of roadways, parking, walkways, pathways, playgrounds and courtyards, as well as fences, gates, play equipment are included. Landscaping, irrigation systems, site utilities, manholes, oil/water separators, site lighting, and communications including excavation, backfill and connection to existing systems is required. Demolition/removal of existing site improvements and landscaping, demolition/removal of existing buildings, protection of existing buildings, landscaping and utilities to remain. Remove and dispose of hazardous materials in accordance with applicable laws and regulations. Portions of the work indicated above may be included in the contract as options in the Cahier des Charges. Estimated cost of construction is between US $25,000,000 to US $35,000,000.
