The Naval Sea Systems Command intends to award a sole source contract(s) to Newport News Shipbuilding (NNS), 4101 Washington Avenue, Newport News, VA 23607, to perform advance procurement and advance construction of components for the CVN 77 Aircraft Carrier Program. This effort includes, but is not limited to the following: advance planning, detailed design, documentation, engineering, procurement, shipchecks, fabrication, shipyard or support facility work and/or any other work necessary to prepare and make ready for and accomplish the construction of one NIMITZ Class Aircraft Carrier (CVN 77) and associated spare and repair parts, technical data and reports. This effort also includes feasibility and trade-off studies and selection of technology for insertion into CVN 77, and the development of the CVN 77 contract design package.
