205-9030 The United States Information Agency, International
Broadcasting Bureau (IBB) seeks sources for imprinting of multilingual
characters on standard keycaps from Personal Computer (PC) keyboards.
The IBB is developing a multilingual word processor to be used by
members of its staff to prepare radio broadcast scripts in
approximately 48 different languages. As part of this, the IBB has a
requirement to provide multilingual keyboards for these users, with the
keys showing the characters or glyphs that are appropriate to the
specific language. The Government will provide both the loose keycaps
(which fit onto the PC keyboards), and professional keycap artwork; the
imprinting vendor (selected pursuant to this CBD) will then imprint the
appropriate artwork onto the tops and sides of the keycaps, and deliver
the completed product back to the Government. Imprinting shall be of
professional grade, in terms of legibility and alignment, and durable,
such that it does not come off under normal usage. All qualified
suppliers of keycap imprinting services are requested to submit a
written description of their corporate capabilities and compliant
services to the USIA Contracting Officer at the above-listed address
before the closing response date listed above. This notice is not a
