E-MAIL: Loren M. Kruger, Loren.M.Kruger.1@gsfc.nasa.gov. NASA/GSFC plans to issue Request for Offer (RFO)5-06600-203 on a competitive basis for a rotating anode x-ray generator. The focus of the excitation beam shall be of a point focus and selectable between a coarse focus of 0.5 x 10mm2 and a fine focus of 0.3 x 3mm2 to produce the required x-ray beam profile. The resultant x-ray beam shall have a cross-sectional profile nominally circular to elliptical with a coarse focus profile of 0.5 to 1 mm2 and a fine focus profile of 0.3mm2 + 10%. The anticipated Period of Performance shall be one year from the effective date of the contract. The Government does not intend to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. See Note 26. This procurement is a total small business set-aside. See Note 1. The SIC Code and Size Standard are 8744 and $20 million in revenue, respectively. The DPAS Rating for this procurement is DO-C9. The provisions and clauses in the RFO and model contract are those in effect through FAC 97-02. All qualified responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency. The anticipated release date of the RFO is on or about 1/16/98 with an anticipated offer due date of on or about 2/27/98. An ombudsman has been appointed -- See Internet Note "B".
