Sought Synopsis. This is a sources sought synopsis for base operations
and maintenance for Fort Hamilton, Brooklyn, New York. Fort Hamilton is
a Military district of Washington installation. The post consists of
approximately seventy (70) structures, including 4 high rise buildings.
The Fort Hamilton reservation is approximately 180.7 acres, of which
approximately 20.4 acres are submerged land. Riparian rights exist to
the pier head line and an easement of access over the filled land area
of approximately 8.48 acres between the original shore lien and the
face of the sea wall. The acquisition will provide for
management/accomplishment of all routine maintenance and repairs, as
well as, new work and new construction for the installation. The
recurring maintenance and repairs will include such items as, HVAC
cyclic preventive maintenance and repair services (CPMRS), central heat
and boiler plant CPMRS, interior electrical systems CPMRS, interior and
exterior painting, water distribution system CPMRS, roads and grounds
CPMRS, pest control services, refuse collection, snow and ice removal,
and maintenance and repair services on buildings and structures. The
magnitude of the work is estimated to be between 5 and 10 million
dollars per year (basic contract and 4 option years{total contract
value, 20 -- 40 million}). The contractor will be required to determine
what is to be maintained, the appropriate level of maintenance,
performance of the maintenance tasks, measurement of the effectiveness
of maintenance to determine the adequacy of the program, and redesign
of portions of the program not achieving satisfactory results. The
successful offeror will provide all management, personnel, tools,
equipment, replacement parts and materials to perform the services
required by the contract. The standard industrial classification (SIC)
code is 8744, Base Maintenance, size standard -- 20 million.

of the firm. 2) Size of business including annual revenue for SIC Code
8744 and entire business, and total number of employees. 3) Ownership,
i.e., large/small/small disadvantaged/8a/or woman owned. 4) Year firm
established. 5) Names of two principals to contact, including title and
telephone number. 6) Previous Experience: Please include information
for on-going contracts or contracts completed within the last five
years (of similar cost magnitude and complexity) under SIC code 8744,
Base Maintenance. Pertinent information required is as follows: A. Name

fixed price, cost plus, indefinite quantity, or combination). D. Period
of Performance and Total contract value. E. Summary of contract work.
F. Contracting Officer Name and current Telephone number. G.

Subcontractors including Names,Addresses, and current Telephone Numbers
of primary points of contact. Limit your response to 10 pages total,
double-spaced, 12 Pt Font Size. Statements must be submitted by 4:00
P.M. on 14 January 1998 to NYD U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, 26 Federal

This synopsis is for information and planning purposes only. All
information submitted is at respondent's expense. Respondents will not
be notified of the results of the evaluation. Qualified respondents
will be included on the source list for any resulting solicitation. The
Government reserves the right to consider a small business set-aside
based upon the responses received. The Government anticipates release
of a request for proposal on or about 2 February 1998. Contract
performance will begin on 1 October 1998. All requests for information
must be submitted in writing. Verbal and facsimile requests will not
be accepted. No solicitation exists at this time, therefore, do not
request a copyof the solicitation. All responses shall be submitted to
the point of contact listed above no later than 4:00 P.M. Eastern
