Concerns having the ability to furnish the following services are requested to give written notification, including a telephone number for a POC to the acquisition office listed in this notice within 15 calendar days from the date of synopsis. The Bureau of Reclamation (Reclamation) has a requirement for database services for the continuing development of Reclamation's desalination database entitled DesalNet. It is Reclamation's belief that American Water Works Association (AWWA), 6666 W. Quincy Ave., Denver CO, 80235, is the only firm that possesses the capable staff and experienced professionals knowledgeable in databasing water publications. AWWA has created the Waternet database, which is the most comprehensive database of water-related literature. AWWA has created a stringent standard utilized in all terminology and abbreviations in their Waternet database which will be applied to the abstracts used to develop DesalNet. The database services required (Phase II) include indexing, abstracting, and integrating approximately 500 remaining reports into the existing Phase I database. The services also include indexing, abstracting, and integrating 200 (+/-) American Desalting Association (ADA) conference proceeding papers into DesalNet and AWWA's Waternet database; creating a final, searchable DesalNet CD-ROM for Reclamation; providing hard copies of all reports; and providing business and system planning and product development for updates and dissemination. This is not a formal solicitation. However, concerns that respond shall provide detailed data concerning their capabilities and may request to receive a copy of the solicitation when and if it becomes available. This notice may represent the only official notice of such a solicitation. All sources responding to this synopsis shall submit information relating to business status, including identification as to whether they are small, large, minority-owned, and/or woman-owned.
