Architect and Engineering services for the USPS Albany and Western New
York District's area of responsibility, which consists of site
adaptation, verification of design, assembly of drawings,
specifications, and proposal documents for CADD based standard plans
and working drawings of Post Office facilities. Projects will range
between 9,000 to 35,000 square feet. The estimated total project
construction cost is undetermined with individual work orders being
negotiation and issued for each project. The contract will include
development of drawings based on program requirements and CADD CDs
provided by the Postal Service. Firms, including consultants, must meet
the following requirements: 1) Possess Auto-CADD 13 or compatable
system and 2) Have at least one architect and one engineer registered
in the state of New York. The USPS may, at its option, include Title II
(Construction Administrative Services). The contract will be subject to
negotiation of individual work orders for services for each task.
Thetotal fees for the term of the contract will not exceed $2,500,000.
The term of the contract will consist of a base of two years, and 3
one-year renewal options for a possible total of 5 years. The USPS
reserves the right to make multiple awards. Firms which possess the
qualifications to perform the services described above are invited to
submit a completed SF254, "Architect-Engineer and Related Questionnaire
for Specific Project", and SF255, "Architect-Engineer and Related
Services Questionnaire for Specific Project" to the office shown above
no later than Thursday, February 19, 1998. The selection will be
conducted with the combined use of the SF254 and SF255. Interested
firms with more than one office should indicate on their SF255 the
staffing composition of the office in which the work will be performed.
Consideration will be given to interested firms who respod to this
advertisement in accordance with the foregoing instruction in the
following order of preference: 1) Local, residing in the Albany,
Syracuse, Buffalo, Rochester NY area; 2) The state of New York; 3) All
others. Architectural and Engineering firms will be considered as
local only if their sole office is in one of the listed areas, or they
have a local branch office, and all the architectural design,
coordination, and management of the project will be accomplished in
that office. It is prohibited to pay any fee, commission, percentage or
brokerage fee to any person or firmcontingent upon, or resulting from
award of a contract. Firms are encouraged to submit their packages by
