R -- PROVIDE, MANAGE AND OPERATE LIFE INSURANCE PLAN FOR THE OTS SOL RFP-TOT-98-0004/C88004 DUE 012198 POC Point of Contact -- Lawrence A. Schlosser, Contracting Officer, 202-906-6193 The Office of Thrift Supervision (OTS) will request proposals from firms operating as insurance carriers (no brokers, please) to provide, manage, and operate a life insurance plan covering the following groups: (1) current and future active full-time and part-time employees; (2) current and future retirees and their dependents; and (3) temporary employees (non-permanent appointment). Proposals will be solicited based on (1) the current life insurance plan; (2) the current plan but without a reduction in life insurance coverage at age 65; (3) the current plans with several reduction options; and (4) the current plan with an additional option to carry spousal coverage into retirement. The vendor will not be required to submit a proposal on all of these plan options to be considered. The solicitation will cover the 1999 plan year and provide for optional plan years for 2000 and 2001. Vendors are cautioned that the solicitation of a rate for a particular type of coverage does not mean that coverage will bea part of the final contract. The RFP will be issued on or about January 30, 1998 with submission of proposals on or about March 11, 1998. All responsible carriers may submit a proposal which will be considered by the Government.
