This is a notice of our intent to add additional contractors to the Prequalified List established on July 11, 1998. We are going to prequalify General Contractors to construct new postal facilities in the South Florida District up to $5,000,000. Locations and exact numbers of constructions have not yet been determined. Prequalifications statements will be evaluated by the Contracting Officer's staff. Primary factors will be considered are: construction experience, financial stability, capacity to perform, timely completion history, references and previous clients. Applicants must be licensed General Contractor in the State of Florida. Applications will be evaluated by the USPS committee, and all General Contractor's will be advised within 60 days of receipt of their application as to prequalifications status. General Contractor's selected as being the most qualified will be placed on the prequalification list. The projects consist of site development with site storm drainage, parking areas for vehiclesof employee's, customer and postal delivery. The buildings typically will be one story high, post and beam structure, exterior masonry walls and finished interior spaces. The contractor is responsible for the timely completion of this project. The contractor must provide all labor, material, equipment, services, permits, taxes and insurance necessary to complete the work. The contractor may also coordinate, order, receive and install certain USPS furnished materials and equipment.
