Contract Specialist Kathy Wallace (205) 895-1166 (Site Code DACA87) The
U. S. Army Engineering and Support Center, Huntsville, has a
requirement to Repair, Modify or Replace eight (8) Air Conditioning
Systems at Corpus Christi Army Depot (CCAD), Texas. The Request for
Quotation (RFQ) document and incorporated provisions and clauses are
those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 97-02. The
competitive range for this project is between $250,000.00 and
$500,000.00. Vendors are urged and expected to inspect the site where
services are to be performed and to satisfy themselves regarding all
general and local conditions that may affect the cost of contract
performance, to the extent that the information is reasonably
obtainable. In no event shall failure to inspect the site constitute
grounds for a claim after contract award. A site visit of the buildings
and the HVAC systems will be held on 28 January 1998. Interested
parties will meet with Mr. Ed Samples, the CCAD Depot Representative,
in the lobby of Building 8, 10:00am CST. Vendors who are interested in
submitting a quotation for this project should fax a written request
to Kathy Wallace, 205-895-1197, by 19 January 1998 for a copy of the
RFQ, drawings, sketches and attachments. All quotations shall be
received no later than 1400 hours CST, 11 February 1998 to the U.S.
Army Engineering and Support Center, Huntsville, ATTN: Kathy Wallace,
4820 University Square, Huntsville, AL 35816. Work shall begin no later
than seven (7) days after contract award. All work shall be completed
by 30 September 1998. Evaluation factors are price, technical factors
(schedule, equipment and material quality, life cycle cost, the
vendor's understanding of the work, construction approach and warranty)
and past performance. Technical factors and past performance when
combined are significantly more important than price. The Standard
Industrial Code applicable to this acquisition is 3585 with a business
size standard of 750 employees. This procurement is a commercial item
