The Government has a requirement for a quantity of 30 each electronic modules to facilitate and support the backkfit of Trident I Ballistic Missile Submarines (SSBN), MK 98 Mod 1, Fire Control System, to Trident II, MK 98 Mod 4. The modules are needed to upgrade these systems and trainers. Specifically, the item being procured is a multiplexed bus interface (MBI-2), SCD 593322. This procurement will be issued as a sole source in accordance with the statutory authority 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1) as implemented by FAR 6.302-1 to Radstone Technology Corporation, 20 Craig Road, Montvale, NJ 07645-1737, see Note 22. The basis for this sole-source is the proprietary information of Radstone and the duplicative cost to the Government to utilize another source to satisfy the Government's requirement. One or more of the items under this acquisition may be subject to the Trade Agreements Act, see note 12. Inspection will be at destination. Delivery required is 180 days from the effective date of contract. The technicalrequirements will be listed in the NSWC Crane statement of work.
