Contracts Management Division, Clement.Sharon@epamail.epa.gov. The
USEPA intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with FFFractionation,
LLC for the acquisition of an integrated Field Flow Fractionation
System. This field flow fractionation system includes a field flow
fractionation channel for high resolution of nanometer sized colloids
and a sedimentation field flow fraction system for high resolution
separation of sub-micron particle populations. The integrated system
includes related components, such as computerized data and control
system, pumps, sample preparation system, and related components. The
purpose of the field flow fractionation equipment is to investigate the
transport and dispersion of organic pollutants in surface waters as it
relates to ecosystem restoration. This action is being pursued on a
sole source basis because FFFractionation, LLC is currently the only
known source of commercially sedimentation field flow franctionation
equipment which will fulfill EPA's research project specifications of
collecting and analyzing field samples throughstate-of-the-art
technical performance. Any firm which feels it is capable of meeting
these requirements may submit technical documentation to establish its
ability to furnish the integrated field flow fractionation system.
Only those firms which submit such technical documentation will be
considered. Written documentation must be provided on or before
February 6, 1998 and may be mailed to 26 W. Martin Luther King Drive,
Cincinnati, OH 45268. Failing receipt of the requested technical proof,
USEPA will proceed to negotiate with FFFractionation, LLC for the cited
system. See Note 22. (0013) Loren Data Corp. http://www.ld.com (SYN# 0324 19980115\66-0007.SOL)
