Provide a Gastroenterologist at the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Medical Center, Battle Creek, Michigan, one day per week and the VA Outpatient Clinic, Grand Rapids, Michigan, one day, every two weeks. At a minimum individuals proposed to work under the resulting contract shall posess a Medical Degree, be board certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology, and have a current and valid license to pratice medicine in any state, commonwealth, or territory of the United States. Services required are as follows: Perform initial and follow-up gastro-intestinal (GI) consultations as requested, including examination, evaluation and recommendations of patients with varied GI needs. Explain procedures and risks; obtain informed consent from patient/guardion. Apply topical anesthetic if indicated. Perform sigmoidoscopy; flexible, fiberoptic, diagnostic or esophogogastro duodenoscopy; simple primary examinations.
