Technician Services Monday-Friday, 7:30 a.m 4:00 p.m. Principal duties
consist of assisting the physicians in evaluating, preparing, and
monitoring patients and collecting and processing data obtained before,
during, and after diagnostic and therapeutic heart catheterization.
Monitor and record physiologic and radiologic data and make appropriate
entries into lab's on-line computer. Take primary hemodynamic
measurements for the determination of cardiac function using
strain-gauge technics, indicator-dilution methods, and blood gas
analysis. Operates the lab's radiology equipment when needed. Performs
daily and routine calibration for cine film processing, blood gas
analysis, hemodynamic and computer analysis. Maintains cine-film
library and performs weekly first-level preventive maintenance on cine
film projectors. Basic anatomy, physiology, pharmacology of the human
cardiovascular system to monitor, record and report cardiac
catheterization data. Basic chemistry, physics, and mathematics to
understand and perform lab procedures and technics, including blood gas
analysis, indicator-dilution curves, etc. Basic computer operations to
enter, manipulate and retrieve data from the computerized cath data
acquisition and processing system. Basic principles of film processing,
including sensitometric and densitometric technics to process
diagnostic film during caths, and performs daily quality control
checks. Basic concepts of inventory control. Basic sterile technic,
