Fontano (718) 553-3080 Contracting Officer The Federal Aviation Administration, Eastern Region, anticipates several requirements for documenting and disseminating aviation weather observations at various locations in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia, Delaware and Washington, DC. The Eastern Region currently has an established Qualified Vendor List. The purpose of this announcement is to open the Qualified Vendors List (QVL) to those vendors who were initially determined unacceptable and to identify new vendors who have the capability to provide this service and would like to be included on the updated Qualified Vendors List. Interested contractors should submit a letter to the Federal Aviation Administration, AEA-55B, Attn: N. Fontano or FAX a request to (718) 995-5685 by no later than February 18, 1998. No telephone requests will be accepted. A questionnaire will be forwarded to those firms requesting information and will be utilized in determining the firms qualified to provide this service. Firms placed on the list will be added to our current Qualified Vendors List. Applicants will be notified as to whether they are qualified or not. Only incumbents and vendors on the QVL will be provided a Statement of Work for upcoming solicitations. Any vendor on the Qualified Vendors List (QVL) whose performance becomes deficient or is determined unacceptable based upon performance under the QVL may be removed with cause from the QVL by written notice to the vendor. Vendors who demonstrate a lack of interest by not responding to proposals offered to them will be removed from the QVL by written notice. Failure to respond to three solicitations will be automatic grounds for removal. No applications will be accepted after February 28, 1998. The Eastern Region's QVL for Weather Observations will be reviewed and updated on an approximate annual basis. (0013)
