This announcement is a market survey seeking interested qualified sources for a potential contractual effort to manufacture and deliver approximately 550 each M898 Sense and Destroy Armor (SADARM) 155MM Projectiles for GFY99 to include two option years (GFY00 of appoximately 520 each and GFY01 of approximately 1,180 each). The SADARM is a 155MM Projectile with two smart submunitions. These submunitions must be capable of defeating threat targets under a wide variety of climatic and battlefield conditions. Performance, reliability, and unit cost are primary considerations. This production effort will include a Pre-Production Evaluation (PPE) Phase to review all existing M898 data provided for producibility assessment. To the extent possible, the contractor is also encouraged to utilize commercially available components. A qualified source should posess the resources to meet production schedules. The Government does not intend to facilitize prospective offerors. The contractor will be encouraged to partner with the Government via membership in a Government chaired Integrated Product Team so as to facilitate design and program decisions. This notice is for informational purposes only. It does not constitute an RFP and does not obligate the Government in any way. Interested sources should submit information to demonstrate, at a minimum, the following: a) Management and technical expertise in production of similar systems; b) Appropriate facility and process capabilities; c) Capability in handling, assembly, storage and safety of explosives; and d) Secret Clearance.
