Postal Service intends to issue a solicitation (contingent upon funds approval) to purchase 2000 units of Long Life Vehicle Shelving Systems. Each system includes a double deck, bi-directional 30 to 36 inches extension slides and a uni-directional extension parcel shelf. The shelves are to be used in the Postal Long Life Vehicle (a 1/2 ton truck). Prototype drawings and specification for the system are specified for baseline and functional purposes. Prospective offerors are expected to production engineer the system. Anticipated solicitation issuance date is early March, with proposals due approximately 30 days thereafter. Contract award is planned for June with the first articles due 60 days after the contract award and production shall be completed within 6 months after the approval of the first article.
