This modifies a 12/96 notice seeking new, alternate, competitive sources for local telephone service in the states of Calif., Arizona, Nevada, Hawaii, and US possessions and territories in the Pacific Rim. Basic Ordering Agreement (BOA) No. GS09K97BHA0056 between GSA, Pacific Rim Region and MCI Telecommunications Corp. was signed on 8/7/97. The BOA is an alternate source in the state of Calif.; Phoenix, AZ; Portland, OR; Seattle, WA; and Dallas, Houston and San Antonio, TX. GSA intends to use this agreement to acquire local telephone service in these locations without seeking further competition if the overall total price for the service represents the best value to the Government. Other locations may be added to meet future requirements. The term of the BOA is 12 mos., with 4 one-year options to extend the period.
